What is Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar Fasciitis is a regular cause of heel pain. As it presupposes inflammation of a wide band of tissue that runs across the sole of your foot which connects your heel bone to your toes the plantar fascia.

Symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis usually includes a stabbing pain in the bottom of your foot near the heel. This can be most painful within the first few steps once you’ve woken up, however, it can also be set off by standing for long periods of time or getting up after sitting down. It can also be worse after exercise, not during it.

Causes of Plantar Fasciitis

Your Plantar Fascia is in the shape of a bowstring, supporting the arch of your foot and absorbing shock when you walk. If tension and stress on this bowstring become too great, small tears can occur in the fascia. Repeated stretching and tearing can irritate or inflame the fascia, although the cause remains unclear in many cases of plantar fasciitis.
